Jonathan- Kiwi Can Reflection

Today for Kiwi Can we have to make circle and talk about Integrity and Accountability. I learnt that Integrity means telling the truth and doing good things when nobody is looking . .We also played a game called 2 truth and one lie for this we had to tell if something is either truth or a lie. I also learnt about Accountability which means being responsible of your own actions. I can show accountability on Thursday by bringing my PE gear and deodorant , and also showing Respect towards my students and teachers. Thank you to Mr Matt & Miss Lily for today's lesson.

Jonathan-Key Evaluation part 5

Key into Evaluation

Level One Set T5
Fred put down the book he was reading and looked out of the window at the sports car in his yard.  It was worth a lot of money. He had four more in the big shed. Then he smiled to himself and nodded. He had decided.

He didn’t tell anyone what he was doing but we all knew he was up to ‘something’. He spent a lot of time on the phone and even more time making sure that the fence around his yard was in good order.

Then one day he arrived home with two large geese on the back of a truck. He later told me that he had learned of how, one night long ago, the ancient city of Rome had been in danger from invaders. The city’s geese had made such a noise when they heard the enemy coming, that the sleeping people had woken and fought them off.

Fred’s geese spent their days at the back of the yard, and had the run of the whole place at night. Fred said they were cheaper than dogs or an ordinary alarm system. He liked having them around and they were easy to manage. If anyone came near, the geese would make a lot of noise honking and hissing. Fred always knew if there was anyone around who shouldn’t be there.

Jonathan-Leap of faith

Leap of faith

The sun had gone down behind the hills and the moon began
to rise slowly. Tonight I was an owlet who was going to fly for
the first time. The wind blew me, but luckily my legs were
wrapped tightly around the branch. I felt nervous and at the
same time I encouraged myself. I felt brave, bold and
confident as the wind was blowing on me. I lifted one of my
legs and I spread my talons. They were shaking and I got
even more nervous because I almost fell off the tree in that
strong and cold wind.

I look a beetle scuttle around the bottom of my tree and a
worm moving in between the blades of grass so I spread my
wings out widely. My heart was heart pounding hard so I
took a deep breath and leapt off the edge of the branch.

As I leapt I flapped my wings and saw I was going higher
and higher. so when I flip The moon shines on prey so the
owls falling down and getting his prey and when he got his
prey he went back up and eat. So his mates said “come and
fly with us!” He turned around his head 270 degrees and he
said “ ok I asked my mum." It was amazing, me and my
mates were flying.

Today for writing we write down a story about the owls
and first we look for facts about owls and make a story about a
owl that were us the little owl that wants to fly. And also we have to out more powerful words about the story that I made .

Jonathan- Key Evaluation part 4

Key into Evaluation
Level One Set T4

Evaluation requires the skills or reorganisation and inference.
Answers must come from the information in the story. Look for keywords. Consider the writer’s intent.

Tunnel Vision

Lee’s eyes widened and he grinned when he saw what was ahead.  Kerry bit on her bottom lip and frowned slightly.
Even though they could see the end of the tunnel, it looked very small, a long way off and it was very dark in the middle.

Water dripped down the walls at the entrance and there were puddles inside the tunnel.

Kerry looked at the light sandals on her feet.
She was sorry now that she’d argued when she was told to wear boots.
Lee, meanwhile, had control of the torch and was shining the beam on the dripping walls.

Although it was summer it was quite cold in the tunnel.  She rubbed her bare arms to keep warm.

“This used to be a train tunnel,” said Robert, as they went deeper into it.  “They dug up the rails and now it’s part of a walkway.”

Kerry was trying to avoid the pools of water that she knew were there, but couldn’t see.
As they walked, Robert told them the story of the railway line that used to go over the hills  and how there were many short tunnels. He told of how it was a long, slow and difficult journey.  These days there is just one long tunnel under the hills and you are through to the other side in just seven minutes.

It wasn’t til they reached the end that Kerry realised that the only way back to the car was through the tunnel again.
a.  How was Kerry feeling when they were at the tunnel entrance?   She felt sorry  Why did you say that? Because she is going to ruined you light sandals.

b.  Why was Kerry sorry that she’d argued?
She argued about to wear boots .

c.  Why couldn’t Kerry see the pools of water?
Because lee that has the torch.

d.  Why had the rails been dug up?
Because robert  want to tell the story about the rail.

Reaction question: I have no reaction.

Do you think Kerry should have been better prepared for the walk through the tunnel? Yes   Why do you say that? Because there is going to be there  lots of walking to water pond and digging .

This week for reading I have been writing answers with the question and it was every hard to do but I done it by reading the text and answering the question . And also the the answering part is hard too so the blue text is the answer's for my reading .
